Last Stretch

Welcome back from break! There are only a few weeks left in the semester and we have a lot to complete as a class.  Over the next few weeks we will:
1. Finish Outsiders
2. Complete the personal responses and turn in the final drafts
3. Take an Outsiders final
4. Watch clips from the movie.

A Turkey's Last Plea

Imagine you are a turkey.  You must convince someone not to cook you for Thanksgiving dinner.  What would you say to convince him or her?

Thankful for...

   Even though Thanksgiving is a great time to stuff our faces and relax for a few days, it is necessary to remember the importance of this holiday.  The holiday is called THANKSgiving, so what are we thankful for?  Often we forget to take a step back and realize how lucky we are for many of the things in our lives.  Today in class, we are going to pause for a moment to reflect on our lives and pick out 3 things that we are truly thankful for.  Over this holiday don't forget to help your parents, grandparents, guardians or friends with the mashed potatoes, turkey or help set the table! Appreciate what you have and spend time with your loved ones instead of just plopping down in front of the TV.  I hope everyone has a wonderful break.  Happy Thanksgiving!  

STAR Mirror

The STAR Mirror test is designed to help show what you have learned so far.  This information will help focus our instruction and allow you to see progress in learning important content in this course during the year. 

It will take place over the next two days of class. 

Once you are finished please silently take out a SSR book and read for the remainder of the period.

Known for flower portraits and dessert landscapes, she was one of the most recognized artist's of the 20th Century. O'Keeffe gained the attention of the art world with the help of her husband a photographer named Alfred Stieglitz. She been born in Sun prairie, Wisconsin on November 15, 1887.
